Iconic Resourcing are delighted to be supporting a leading professional services firm in their search for a qualified Accountant to join their Finance team on an 18-month fixed term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing finance function within a well-established and respected organisation, offering exposure to senior stakeholders and meaningful involvement in financial planning and reporting. You will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and partnering with stakeholders across the business. This position offers a broad range of responsibilities and the opportunity to contribute to ongoing financial improvement initiatives.
This role is based hybrid from either Glasgow or Edinburgh.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations, including prepayments, accruals and fixed assets
- Preparation of annual statutory accounts
- Supporting annual budgeting and periodic reforecasting processes
- Performance analysis against budget, including detailed variance analysis
- Preparation of monthly finance packs and board reporting
- Month-end balance sheet reconciliations to trial balance
- Business partnering with department and function heads
- Delivering ad-hoc reporting and analysis for senior stakeholders
Previous Experience
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong technical accounting knowledge and experience preparing management accounts and maintaining robust balance sheet controls. You will be highly organised, detail-focused and comfortable working to deadlines, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders. Strong Excel skills are essential, and experience within professional services would be advantageous but not essential.
