Role Overview:
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will play a key role in the oversight of the core transactional finance functions, taking ownership of the full accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash & banking elements.
Your New Role:
To support the group's continued growth, you will contribute to the smooth running of the core financial functions, with emphasis on the following areas:
Core role and responsibilities:
- Record all purchases made by the company accurately and promptly
- Verify purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notes for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure timely payment to suppliers while adhering to payment terms
- Issuing Purchase Orders accurately and promptly
- Reconcile supplier statements with purchase ledger balances to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Record all sales transactions accurately and in a timely manner
- Generate and send out sales invoices to customers promptly
- Maintain accounts receivable records, including receipts and sales contracts
- Verify sales orders, invoices, and delivery notes
- Follow up on outstanding customer invoices, resolving any billing discrepancies
- Reconcile customer statements with sales ledger balances to ensure accuracy, addressing any discrepancies
- Reconcile cash transactions with bank statements to ensure accuracy
- Process bank transfers, withdrawals, and other banking transactions as required
- Maintain petty cash funds and reconcile petty cash transactions regularly
- Maintain a comprehensive record of all outgoing payments, including expenses and bills
- Processing both GDP & foreign payments accurately and efficiently
- Ensure all payments are properly authorised, and schedule payments in accordance with payment terms and cash flow requirements
- Monitor and review payment schedules to avoid late payments
- Reconcile outgoing payments with bank statements to ensure accuracy
- Communicate with internal & external stakeholders regarding payment status and inquiries
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance department and collaborate with other departments to enhance overall business operations
- Work to tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
