About the Opportunity
We are supporting a leading UK provider of critical engineering services, delivering solutions across infrastructure, utilities, food & drink, and highly regulated sectors including aerospace and defence.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an Accounts Payable Supervisor to join their Finance team. This is a key role, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day AP function while leading and developing a small team.
The Role
As Accounts Payable Supervisor, you will take ownership of the AP function, ensuring processes run efficiently while maintaining strong controls and high levels of accuracy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising a team of 6 Accounts Payable Assistants
- Overseeing the processing of high-volume supplier invoices and credit notes
- Monitoring the AP inbox and workflow queues, ensuring queries are resolved promptly
- Supporting hands-on invoice processing where required
- Playing a key role in the implementation of a new ERP system, supporting the team through change
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the business
- Assisting with month-end and year-end close activities
About You
- Proven experience in an Accounts Payable Supervisor or Senior AP role
- Strong understanding of end-to-end AP processes and financial controls
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing a team
- Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management ability
- Proficient in finance systems/ERP and Excel
