As they continue to expand, they are now seeking a highly driven and motivated candidate for a newly created position of Finance Team Leader on a full-time, permanent and hybrid working basis. You will be key in supporting the efficient running of a successful and busy finance team who deal with credit write back transactions. Brokers use an accounting process to return money from their client accounts to their profit and loss accounts. This money is considered not owed or cannot be paid to clients, insurers, or other third parties, as defined by the FCA, and therefore someone with a background in AP would be desirable in their experience of understanding the full payment flow. Key areas of the role would surround:

Take the lead in re-engineering and implementing the desired credit process

Manage the pre-hive run off balances for all integrated acquisitions across GGB UK

Review aged balances across all GGB UK entities and IBA brokerage systems to determine the appropriate course of action
-
Monitor and meet department management's set KPIs/SLAs, ensuring both qualitative and quantitative support is provided

Conduct monthly 1:1 meetings and follow the company's performance appraisal cycle for each team member
-
Provide training and development opportunities for team members to equip them with relevant skills for their assigned tasks and personal growth

Identify skill gaps and arrange additional training as needed

Comply with all regulatory legislation pertaining to credit write back transactions

Independently investigate transactions using various sources of data to verify the status of clients' and third parties' businesses/companies
-
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate investigations and seek the best possible solutions

Issue written communications to external stakeholders as required

Process requests to address transactions and reimburse the rightful stakeholders

Perform necessary brokerage system work to align with the desired treatment of transactions based on completed investigations

Chair weekly meetings with the Client Money team to address issues, discuss deadlines, and provide status updates

Maintain meticulous records of all investigatory actions and completed checks
To be successful in this role, the following experience is required:

Hands-on management experience is essential

Experience within an Accounts Payable position is essential for this role

Experience of working within a fast-paced and high-volume environment

Ability to question data and seek correct outcome

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to multi-task, and manage own workload

Strong IT literacy skills
