Role Profile: Assistant Accountant
Location: Glasgow
Salary: £25,000–£28,000 (DOE)
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join a fast-growing, tech-led PLC in Glasgow. This role sits within a high-performing finance team and offers strong exposure to month-end processes, audit, and wider commercial activity.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the Purchase Ledger function while gaining valuable experience across the full finance cycle. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at graduate level or early in their finance career who is ambitious, driven, and keen to progress professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for end-to-end purchase ledger processing
- Managing invoice approvals through automated systems
- Preparing mid-month and month-end payment runs
- Managing supplier, contractor, and employee expense payments
- Supporting month-end close
- Bank reconciliations
- Posting journals and accruals
- Monitoring daily cash balances
- Supporting audit preparation
- Daily cash monitoring and reporting
- Participating in weekly continuous improvement meetings

You may be:
- A graduate with a finance, accounting or mathematics background
- Early in your finance career with purchase ledger or assistant accountant experience
- Ambitious and keen to pursue professional qualifications
