Assistant Accountant
North Lanarkshire | Full-Time | Hybrid working
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join a Global Business! In this role you will support the delivery of accurate financial reporting, statutory accounts and compliance activities across the organisation. The role offers broad exposure across financial reporting, tax, FX transactions, and audit, making it a strong opportunity for someone looking to deepen their technical accounting experience within a global finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, prepayments and P&L review
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with cashflow forecasting and bank reconciliations
- Support the preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Assist with statutory reporting, tax processes and group reporting requirements
- Provide support during internal and external audits
- Support multi-currency accounting and FX analysis, including realised and unrealised foreign exchange transactions
- Assist with funding transactions and intercompany activity
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant role
- Strong experience supporting month-end close processes
- Exposure to balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and financial reporting
- Experience working with multi-currency transactions or FX accounting is advantageous
- Experience supporting audit, tax processes or statutory reporting is beneficial
- Experience within shared services or group finance structures is advantageous
