Associate / Director - Employment
Location: Glasgow / Edinburgh (Hybrid)
Salary: £53,000 to £72,000 plus Benefits
We’re looking for an experienced Employment Solicitor to join a well established firm in either Edinburgh or Glasgow. The role is open to candidates at Associate or Director level, with the scope and salary reflecting experience.
This is a chance to take ownership of your work, build strong client relationships and help shape the team’s presence in the Central Belt. You’ll be supported by an established employment team in the North East, with colleagues able to travel to Edinburgh and Glasgow to provide support.
The role
You’ll advise both employers and individuals on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including:
- Employment Tribunal claims, including drafting ET3s and representing clients at hearings
- Day-to-day HR and employee relations advice
- Employment contracts, policies and procedures
- Settlement agreements
- Employment aspects of corporate transactions
- Client training and employment law updates
You’ll manage your own matters and contribute to the development of the practice. At Director level, there is scope to play a leading role in growing the Central Belt team, with the potential to progress towards partnership over time.
About you
You’ll be a qualified solicitor with strong employment law experience and the confidence to advise clients directly. You’ll bring:
- Experience across contentious and non-contentious employment work
- A practical, commercially focused approach
- A collaborative style and interest in developing client relationships
- Enthusiasm for helping grow a practice and, depending on experience, a local team
You’ll join a supportive employment team with an established client base and colleagues across the wider business. The team advises across a varied range of sectors and workplace issues, and combines practical day-to-day support with more complex employment matters. This role offers the opportunity to help establish and grow the team’s presence in the Central Belt, while working closely with experienced colleagues elsewhere in the firm.
