About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Associate or Senior Associate with a minimum of 4 years PQE (Scottish/English/dual qualified) to join our dynamic Banking & Finance team. This role provides the opportunity to support and lead on a wide range of transactional and advisory work, including fund finance, leveraged finance, acquisition finance, real estate finance, debt restructuring, corporate funding, and securitisation. Training in fund finance will be provided to those keen to develop expertise in this area.
As a key member of the team, you will work alongside partners and senior lawyers to drive deals forward, develop the practice, mentor junior colleagues, and contribute to the growth of the firm's Banking & Finance brand. Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on a variety of banking matters, drafting and negotiating loan and security documentation and legal opinions.
- Manage transactions from start to finish, working on multidisciplinary projects with other practice areas.
- Collaborate effectively with instructing counsel on cross-border deals where the firm acts as Scottish counsel.
- Conduct legal research, prepare client advice, and produce papers for publication.
- Mentor and supervise junior team members, fostering their development.
- Actively participate in business development, client training, and initiatives to strengthen the practice area.
- Adhere to the firm's information security policies, safeguarding client and firm information.
About You:
- A minimum of 4 years PQE in Banking & Finance, with enthusiasm for finance work and a record of technical excellence.
- Commercially minded, with a passion for staying current with legal developments.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to tailor advice to meet clients' needs.
- Team-oriented, with a collaborative approach and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proactive in driving business development and engaging in client training activities.
