Role: Commercial Partner (Solicitor) – IT Technology

Due to focused and continued strategic growth, they are currently seeking a number of additional Partners to join the firms’ Scottish offices. The firm is actively seeking an experienced and talented Commercial Partner with a focus on the Technology and IT sectors to join their distinguished and market leading commercial team based out of Scotland. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to build out and contribute significantly to the commercial practice, particularly within the realms of Technology, IT and Fintech.

Role Overview:
As a Commercial Partner specialising in Technology and IT, you will play a pivotal role growing and developing the commercial offering from Scotland. Working closely with the Senior Partner you will continue the development of the IT & Technology practice. Your responsibilities will encompass providing expert legal advice, handling intricate transactional matters, and contributing to the strategic growth and development of the sector focus in this dynamic sector within Scotland and wider UK offering
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the IT & Technology practice in Scotland, working alongside the National practice.
- Generate and manage a portfolio of mandates, ideally with focus on the practice’s areas of strength in either AI, Blockchain & Digital Assets, Fintech and Large IT Projects, although other areas of focus would be considered.
- Cultivate and sustain profitable, scalable and brand-enhancing client relationships, offering strategic and commercially adept advice in the IT & Technology space.
- Collaborate with Partners, Lawyers, and support staff across the firm to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and business development initiatives within the firm.
Requirements:
- Substantial experience as an IT & Technology Lawyer, currently operating at Partner level, ideally with expertise that aligns to the practice’s areas of strength – Fintech, AI and Large IT Projects – although other areas of focus would be considered.
- A significant portfolio of profitable, scalable and brand-enhancing client relationships that will contribute to the growth of the practice.
- Expertise in handling complex IT & Technology transactions and providing strategic advice.
- Leadership skills and the ability to inspire and manage a team across several different locations.
- Proven track record in client development and retention.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships.
