Credit Controller – Professional Services | Glasgow/Edinburgh | Hybrid Working

Our client - A leading, Scottish legal firm is seeking a confident and proactive Credit Controller to join its finance function in Glasgow/Edinburgh. With continued growth, both in revenue and headcount, this is an exciting time to join a business that combines professional excellence with a people-first culture.
This position plays a key role in ensuring timely collection of outstanding client balances, working closely with senior stakeholders to maintain financial control and support broader working capital strategies. You'll be joining a dedicated credit control team within a supportive and well-structured finance department.
The Opportunity:
In this role, you'll manage your own portfolio of client accounts, building relationships across the business to support timely collections, resolve billing queries, and help reduce aged debt. You'll have visibility across the full credit lifecycle and the chance to influence best practices in collections and billing coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and action aged receivables reports
- Conduct regular AR reviews with partners and stakeholders
- Liaise with clients to resolve outstanding queries and secure payment
- Work collaboratively with internal billing and finance teams
- Escalate unresolved or disputed debt in line with agreed processes
- Maintain accurate records of communication and collection status
- Contribute to improvements in internal collection processes
- Ensure all actions align with the company’s financial controls and policies
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role, ideally within a professional or financial services environment
- Comfortable working with billing systems and financial software
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong attention to detail and highly organised
- Proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
- Experience in legal billing or working within a partnership structure is advantageous
