Iconic Resourcing Legal are delighted to partner with one of our well-established and highly reputable Insurance Broker clients in Glasgow City Centre, on a full-time, permanent role. Our client holds a rich history, established over 100 years ago and since building a presence globally, becoming a world leader in their market. We are seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor to join them as they expand their team. You will work with the HR team to support a programme of Employee Relations delivery to meet business requirements and will ensure solutions are appropriately embedded.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a global organisation undertaking a diverse workload alongside a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
The main focus of the role is collaborating with and supporting the HR team and the business with all employee relations issues such as complex discipline, grievance, restructure, performance and absence management, ensuring these are dealt with fairly, commercially and pragmatically. Further, this role will involve:
- Working as a key team member on Mergers and Acquisition (M&A) activity both in the UK and EMEA, including due diligence, review of purchase agreements and all related transactional documentation
- Supporting and coaching HR team and business leaders to develop employee relations skills and contribute to risk mitigation in a way consistent with best practice and company values
- Managing employment litigation, acting as an intermediary between the business and external counsel
- Understanding and managing complex settlement agreements and employment cases in the UK and EMEA, working in conjunction with stakeholders and local counsel
- Supporting consultation processes on business transformation projects, mergers and acquisitions
- Providing guidance in designing, maintaining updating and interpreting HR polices
- Delivering appropriate upskilling sessions in areas such as business change and knowledge of employment policies and legislation
- Keeping up to date with changes and developments in employment law in the UK and EMEA
- Where appropriate working with other CEOs on areas and projects of responsibility to provide cohesive advice to the business
The required candidate will have experience in employment law, either in-house or private practice, and will be able to demonstrate competence in the following:
- Relationship management of multiple stakeholders operating at senior levels in a complex commercial environment
- The ability to challenge, influence and build collaborative partnerships across the business
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills
- Commercial & pragmatic approach
- Adaptable with the ability to effectively organise, prioritise and handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
