This leading independent Scottish Firm is currently seeking a dedicated Solicitor to join their thriving English real estate team, which operates across three offices across the UK. The Glasgow-based team collaborates seamlessly with colleagues in other locations, providing comprehensive real estate services to clients.
The Role:
This client-facing role involves acting for dynamic clients based in England, Scotland, and overseas. The successful candidate will work closely with finance, construction, and planning teams, and bridge their market-leading Scottish real estate practice to realise cross-border opportunities. The team is also heavily involved in renewable energy projects, offering an opportunity to engage in this area.
The ideal candidate will be English qualified with 0-4 years PQE, but those with relevant real estate experience in Scotland or a Common Law jurisdiction, or those outside this PQE range, are also encouraged to apply.
Essential Skills:
- Experienced in English Real Estate property law
- Exceptional time management
- Outstanding communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Relevant legal experience
Technical/Legal Skills:
- English Qualified or Dual Qualified Scottish Solicitor
- Appropriate range of legal knowledge, identifying issues outside expertise and seeking assistance
- Initiative in obtaining relevant information to complete tasks
- Produces solutions addressing client’s requirements with guidance
- Potential for effective spoken and written advocacy skills
- Compliance with formalities required for advocacy, dealing with witnesses and opposing arguments effectively
Business Development & Client Relationship Management:
- Clear communication with prospective and current clients
- Awareness of external market forces and identification of trends leading to opportunities
- Develops effective client solutions with minimum guidance
- Understanding of building client relations and client care issues
- Communicates client feedback to senior team members
- Awareness of value of activity versus time spent
