This is an incredible opportunity within a purpose‑led, international organisation with ambitious growth plans. The role sitting within the Senior Leadership Team plays a critical part in shaping financial strategy, execution and governance across a global group.
The Finance Director will provide the financial leadership required to scale sustainably, support innovation and enable high‑quality decision‑making across the executive team. In addition to finance, the role influences enterprise‑wide priorities including strategic programmes, legal and risk, technology (including AI) and procurement and supply chain.
This is a broad, impactful role for a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys operating close to the business while maintaining strong financial discipline in a complex, international environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end financial management of the global business, including financial accounting, statutory compliance, business partnering, reporting, planning, tax, treasury and audit.
- Own and deliver the group financial strategy, ensuring alignment with growth objectives, purpose and long‑term sustainability.
- Act as a trusted commercial partner to the Executive Team, providing clear insight, scenario analysis and recommendations to support strategic decisions.
- Lead and develop a high‑performing finance function, strengthening capability, controls, systems and succession.
- Drive the planning, budgeting, and forecasting cycles, producing robust and operationally aligned P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasts.
- Oversee global statutory reporting and audits across all entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and manage cash, treasury, and investment strategies, including liquidity planning and working capital optimisation.
- Lead tax strategy and compliance, including efficient structuring and governance across jurisdictions.
- Manage foreign exchange exposure, implementing appropriate policies and risk‑mitigation strategies.
- Set and maintain financial policies, governance, and control frameworks that are scalable and fit for growth.
- Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, advisors, banks, partners, customers and suppliers.
What we’re looking for
- A confident, credible and engaging senior finance leader with presence at executive and board level.
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Strong experience in a growth‑oriented, international SME or mid‑market environment.
- Highly commercial, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear and actionable insight.
- Comfortable operating strategically while remaining hands‑on where needed.
- Proven track record of building and leading finance teams, improving systems, controls and performance.
- Strong knowledge of international reporting, statutory frameworks, governance and risk.
- Analytical, structured and resilient with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment.
- A collaborative leader who communicates clearly, influences effectively and supports continuous improvement.
Location
The role is based in Scotland’s Central Belt, with hybrid working flexibility of up to 2 days within the office.
