Finance Director - Glasgow

In their own words, "With our thorough understanding of both the property market and the building industry, we can customise our services to meet the needs of any project."  Kelvin Properties is now seeking an experienced Finance Director to join its team and lead its financial operations in this newly created role.

 

Your new role:

 

The newly created role of Finance Director will play a key role in the company's executive team, working closely with the directors to make long-term financial decisions and ensuring the financial health and stability of the company. The Finance Director will be responsible for different entities operating across residential letting, factoring, property investment vehicles and property development. The successful candidate will work closely with the directors and have a real impact on the business, helping to shape its future direction and success.

 

As the Finance Director, you will have a significant impact on the financial health and stability of the companies under your purview. You will be responsible for:

 

  • Monitoring business performance and providing insightful analysis to the directors, making sure that financial goals are being met.
  • You will have a leading role in preparing budgets and forecasts, providing guidance and support to the senior management team to ensure that the company's financial resources are being utilised effectively.
  • Overseeing the finance team to ensure compliance with all VAT, PAYE, CIS, and other legal requirements.
  • Responsibility for ensuring that robust financial reporting systems are in place to provide accurate and timely financial information.
  • Calculating and submitting quarterly VAT returns and annual accounts in line with HMRC requirements.
  • Submitting covenant calculations to the bank, reviewing ongoing bank funding for development and rental companies to ensure that the company's financing needs are being met.
  • As the senior finance leader, you will also be expected to work at an executive level within the business and help make long-term financial decisions that align with the company's overall strategic goals.

 

Your ability to identify risks and opportunities, coupled with your financial acumen, will be critical in ensuring that the companies remain profitable and financially sustainable. Your track record of implementing strong financial control environments will enable you to effectively manage the financial operations of various entities operating across residential letting and property development.

Overall, your role as Finance Director will be crucial in ensuring that the financial affairs of the company are managed with integrity, efficiency, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record of successfully operating in a senior finance leadership role, including experience in implementing and maintaining strong financial control environments.

 

You should hold a relevant accountancy qualification such as CA, CIMA, ACA. Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for the role, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders is critical. You must be an excellent team player with strong people management skills, capable of building and managing a high-performing finance team.
