The Opportunity
The Finance Manager role presents a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking and innovative
company at the forefront of the whisky industry. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller and managing one direct report, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future success of the business and is a key part of the establishment of a robust in-house finance function.
- Monthly Balance Sheet and P&L Reconciliations - Conduct thorough monthly reconciliations of balance sheets and P&L statements across all entities to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Intercompany Reconciliations - Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations to ensure accurate recording and elimination of intercompany balances.
- VAT Returns for UK Based Entities - Prepare and submit VAT returns for UK-based entities in compliance with regulatory requirements and deadlines.
- Forecasting and Budgeting Models - Collaborate with entities and specific budget holders to develop comprehensive forecasting and budgeting models that align with organisational goals and objectives.
- Monthly Reporting on Key KPI Areas - Generate monthly reports on key performance indicators, analysing financial data to provide insights into business performance and areas for improvement.
- Management of Accounts Assistant - Supervise and mentor an accounts assistant, providing guidance and support in completing tasks related to financial reconciliations, reporting, and other key deliverables.
Previous Experience
The successful candidate will likely be fully qualified from CIMA/ACCA/ICAS with experience in industry, preferably at a growing SME though other backgrounds considered. Previous experience in a management accounting based role in a fast-paced industry is essential. Previous experience of managing a direct report or two would be advantageous.
