Finance Manager

Iconic Resourcing are delighted to be exclusively partnering with a group based in the Port Glasgow area to appoint a Finance Manager. Operating in an exciting and highly sought after industry, this role will be responsible for one of the group's most important and successful entities, managing two direct reports.
Candidates must be fully qualified and be within commutable distance to Port Glasgow for the hybrid working arrangements, and occasional travel to Edinburgh city centre is required (on average one day per month).
Responsibilities:
Once up to speed, this role will be highly autonomous with the successful candidate having full responsibility for the accounting function for their specific entities. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be surrounded by an experienced and tenured leadership team to help with a smooth transition into the role and business.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and year-end statutory accounts
- Lead the development and oversight of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis for your entities
- Manage the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
- Contribute to the annual cost analysis and pricing strategy
- Manage a team of two direct reports
- Oversee and review balance sheet reconciliations and other financial reports prepared by the accounts team
- Coordinate with auditors for internal and external audits
- Ad hoc project work relating to continuous improvement and potential future business expansion
- Ensure adherence to internal control guidelines and timely completion of reporting requirements
Previous Experience
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA) with previous experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or Financial Accountant role. Candidates can come from either a practice background, with a few years experience in industry, or from an entirely industry background where they have progressed through the ranks. Strong Excel skills are required as is excellent business partnering abilities. Previous experience managing small teams would be highly advantageous.
