Iconic Resourcing Accountancy & Finance Division are delighted to bring to market an exciting new vacancy with one of our high-growth and hugely successful clients based in Glasgow City Centre. Placing a focus on the Insurance sector, this organisation have built a solid reputation in the market for almost a century which has led them to be one of the largest Insurance Broker's globally. As they continue to expand, they are now seeking a highly driven and motivated candidate for a newly created position of Finance Team Leader on a full-time, permanent and hybrid working basis. You will be key in supporting the efficient running of a successful and busy transactional finance team, who are responsible for the reconciliation of a high volume of monthly statements, liaising directly with issuers. Key areas of the role will surround:
- Assist the department Manager in managing the day-to-day workload of the department
- Supporting the team to achieve their monthly KPI’s & targets
- Act as a point of escalation for any reconciliations queries arising from the team
- Assist in processing a high volume of monthly reconciliations, liaising with the issuers to rectify any disputes/problems
- Conduct monthly 1:1 meetings with team members as per the company's performance appraisal cycle
- Train and develop team members to improve their skills and abilities
- Identify areas that need improvement and suggest changes to management
- Review financial data reporting, perform root cause analysis of any issues, and liaise with internal staff and the business where necessary
- Provide team members with support for query resolution and attend business performance review meetings
- Support internal and external audit requests within set deadlines
- Manage ongoing business relationships and act as a point of escalation for business-related issues
- Identify skills gaps and arrange for additional training where required
- Approve payment requests, ensuring they comply with the financial control standards
- Adhoc duties as and where necessary
To be successful in this role, the following experience is required:
- Hands-on management experience is essential
- Experience within high volume reconciliations is essential for this role
- Experience of working within a fast-paced and high-volume environment (SSSC experienced would be beneficial)
- Ability to question data and seek correct outcome
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multi-task, and manage own workload
- Strong IT literacy skills
This role is offering a base salary of up to £32,000 alongside excellent benefits, a hybrid working model and fantastic career development opportunities.
