Group Accountant - West Central Scotland

Iconic Resourcing are delighted to be working with a key client, a dynamic and fast-paced business in the service sector, to recruit a Group Accountant to play a crucial role in their financial operations.

 

Responsibilities:

 

As Group Accountant, you will be responsible for management accounts prep, financial planning, analysis, and reporting, supporting strategic decision-making processes. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to provide insights into business performance.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in budget preparation and monthly forecasting processes.
  • Management Reporting: Generate accurate and timely financial reports for senior management.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and analyse costs to identify opportunities for savings and efficiencies.
  • Variance Analysis: Investigate and explain variances between actual and budgeted results.
  • Month-end Close: Contribute to the month-end and year-end close processes.

 

Previous Experience

 

  • Qualified Accountant from ACCA, ICAS or CIMA background
  • Previous experience in practice would be beneficial
  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
