We're partnering with a major Scottish organisation undergoing significant investment and transformation across technology, data and AI.
As part of this journey, they are seeking a Head of Finance Technology & Transformation to establish and lead a new capability within the Finance function, helping define how technology can drive better decision-making, greater efficiency and meaningful business value.
This is a unique opportunity to build something from the ground up.
You'll sit at the intersection of Finance, Technology and Data, partnering with senior leaders to define a long-term roadmap for modernising the Finance function through intelligent application of technology, data, automation and AI.
This is not a traditional finance systems role.
Equally, this is not purely a technology position.
We're looking for someone who understands transformation, can navigate complexity, and has first-hand experience leading meaningful change in large organisations.
The Opportunity
- Define and execute the Finance Technology, Data & AI strategy and roadmap.
- Partner with Finance Directors, Heads of Finance, Technology leaders and Data teams to identify opportunities for transformation and innovation.
- Drive improvements across planning, forecasting, budgeting, reporting and wider finance processes.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and determine how they can be leveraged to solve real business challenges.
- Establish governance, operating models and delivery frameworks to support sustainable transformation.
- Act as the key bridge between Finance and Technology stakeholders.
- Influence investment decisions and prioritisation across a growing portfolio of initiatives.
- Build the future capability of the function, defining skills, capabilities and team structure as the roadmap evolves.
Technology Environment
The organisation has invested heavily in modern technology and data capabilities and there is growing interest in AI-enabled technologies.
However, the organisation remains deliberately platform-agnostic and is seeking someone capable of evaluating the evolving technology landscape objectively and identifying the right solutions for the right business problems.
Success in this role will come from understanding business challenges first and technology platforms second.
About You
We're less interested in your job title and more interested in the challenges you've tackled.
You may come from a finance transformation, technology transformation, consulting, data, digital or enterprise change background.
You will likely have:
- Experience leading complex transformation programmes within large organisations.
- Strong understanding of modern technology, data and AI capabilities.
- An ability to connect business objectives with technology solutions.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders across multiple functions.
- A pragmatic approach to change, balancing innovation with governance and delivery discipline.
- Experience building roadmaps, shaping strategy and turning ambition into executable plans.
Most importantly, you'll have lived through transformation.
Perhaps you've successfully delivered a major programme and want the opportunity to do it again.
Perhaps you've encountered obstacles, learned difficult lessons and can bring a more informed perspective to future initiatives.
