I’m working with The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews to appoint an HR Advisor on a 3‑month fixed‑term contract and another HR Advisor 6-month contract. These are hands‑on generalist roles that would suit someone who enjoys being a practical, supportive point of contact for managers and employees while keeping day‑to‑day HR delivery running smoothly.
The roles includes:
- Providing first-line advice on employee relations matters
- Being responsible for payroll processing via Cascade HRIS (required for 6-months FTC role)
- Supporting absence reviews, performance discussions and flexible working requests
- Leading or assisting with interviews, return‑to‑work meetings and onboarding activity
- Working closely with managers to ensure consistent application of HR policies
- General HR operations, recordkeeping and helping the team with priority tasks
About you:
- Confident handling day‑to‑day ER issues with a balanced, pragmatic approach
- Experience of processing payroll within a HR team (required for 6-months FTC role)
- Good understanding of UK employment law and how to apply it in practice
- Comfortable adapting your communication style across different teams and stakeholders
- Organised, proactive, and able to pick things up quickly with minimal supervision
- Available to start at short notice and happy with a hybrid working pattern
