HR Advisor (Temporary – Part Time)

An experienced HR Advisor is urgently required for a well-known Edinburgh organisation during a particularly busy operational period.
This opportunity would suit an established HR Advisor, Senior HR Advisor or Employee Relations specialist looking for a flexible, high-impact temporary role within a collaborative People team.
While this is a broad HR Advisor position, the primary focus of the role will be Employee Relations casework. The successful candidate will act as the main point of contact for ER matters across the business, supporting managers with a range of complex and sensitive employee issues.
You will need to be confident managing ER cases independently, advising stakeholders at all levels and liaising with external solicitors where required.
Key Responsibilities

Managing employee relations casework from start to finish

Supporting disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence processes

Advising managers on flexible working and family leave matters

Supporting complex ER issues and tribunal preparation

Guiding managers through informal and formal employee matters

Conducting note-taking during formal meetings and hearings

Liaising with Occupational Health and supporting reasonable adjustments

Providing practical, commercially focused HR advice across the organisation
Alongside the ER focus, you will also support the wider HR function with:

Payroll administration support

Employee lifecycle administration

HR systems updates and reporting

Supporting onboarding and inductions

Assisting with recruitment coordination during busy periods
About You

Proven experience within an HR Advisor or Employee Relations role

Strong knowledge of employment law and ER best practice

Comfortable handling complex and sensitive casework independently

Experience supporting tribunal preparation or solicitor liaison

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Calm, credible and solutions-focused approach

CIPD qualification or equivalent experience preferred
