Iconic Resourcing HR are delighted to be partnering exclusively with Brodies LLP who are a UK law firm headquartered in Scotland, in their search to appoint a People Engagement Advisor who will join them, working from either their Glasgow or Edinburgh office on a hybrid basis.
The Role
Reporting into the Senior People Engagement Manager and supported by an Assistant, this role will be an integral part of the business, providing comprehensive people related advice, specifically to the legal practice areas. You will need to demonstrate a broad range of HR experience and have the ability to build relationships, influence and communicate in a fast-paced environment in order to provide a first-class service to the business.
Day to day, you will act as the key point of contact for two legal practice areas, meeting regularly with and providing commercial and pragmatic advice on all aspects of employee relations. You will be able to support with grievances, conducting disciplinary investigations and hearings, running absence management cases, and managing exit interviews and as well as providing support and guidance with performance management. You will also be involved in support with the annual appraisal process, working with each area on performance development plans and resolving issues where necessary.
With support from the Resourcing Manager, you will also have some involvement in establishing resource requitements, devising and delivering effective recruitment strategies. You will assist with drafting job adverts through to making an offer to employment, providing support at interviews and coaching and guiding less experienced managers as well as facilitating assessments. You will also review succession planning though identifying resource gaps and carrying out risk analysis and mapping out succession plans for your practice areas.
You will also ensure new starts understand the performance expectation of the business, provide advice during probation and deliver induction to any new joiners. There will also be an opportunity to drive forward and deliver projects in line with the People Engagement strategy.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking applications from candidates who are ideally CIPD qualified and who have experience of working in a broad HR generalist role. You will have the ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders and handle HR issues and projects with minimal guidance, demonstrating sound working knowledge of employment legislation.
