HR Assistant (Payroll Experience Required)

Glasgow City Centre | Hybrid Working | Immediate Start Available

Competitive hourly rate | Temporary assignment

We're supporting a well-established and growing technology organisation in the appointment of a Temporary HR Assistant to join their busy people team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive HR professional who also has exposure to payroll and enjoys working across both disciplines.

The role offers plenty of variety, with responsibility for supporting day-to-day HR administration while also playing a key role in monthly payroll activities.

We're particularly keen to speak with candidates who have previous HR administration experience and are comfortable working with payroll data, employee records and payroll-related queries.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting the preparation and administration of monthly payroll

  • Assisting with payroll changes including salary amendments, new starters, leavers and contractual changes

  • Acting as a first point of contact for routine HR and payroll queries

  • Maintaining accurate employee records across HR and payroll systems

  • Preparing contracts, offer letters and other HR documentation

  • Supporting onboarding and offboarding processes

  • Assisting with absence management administration and reporting

  • Producing HR and payroll reports and maintaining data accuracy

  • Working closely with HR, Payroll and wider business stakeholders to ensure smooth people processes

  • Providing general administrative support across the people function

We're keen to speak with individuals who can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in an HR Assistant, HR Administrator or similar role

  • Exposure to payroll processes and payroll administration

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

  • Experience using HR and/or payroll systems

  • Good Excel and general IT skills

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • A proactive, collaborative approach
