Iconic Resourcing are delighted to be partnering with Murgitroyd to recruit an HR Assistant to join their People team based in Glasgow.
About Murgitroyd
Founded in Glasgow in 1975, Murgitroyd has grown to become one of the world's leading intellectual property firms, supporting innovative organisations to protect and maximise the value of their ideas, brands and inventions. With offices across Europe, the Americas and Asia, the firm combines international reach with deep technical expertise, advising clients ranging from global technology and pharmaceutical businesses to ambitious start-ups and market-leading brands.
For over 50 years, Murgitroyd has built its reputation on delivering exceptional client service, investing in its people and embracing innovation. Guided by its core values of trust, unity and confidence, the business continues to grow while maintaining a collaborative and people-focused culture.
The Opportunity
This is a busy, hands-on role at the heart of the People team, providing essential support across a broad range of HR processes and activities.
While the role offers exposure to various aspects of HR, its primary focus is on administration, coordination and employee support. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring HR processes run smoothly, records are maintained accurately, and employees receive a high standard of support and service.
This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys organisation, working with detail, managing multiple priorities and being the person colleagues can rely on to keep things running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
  • Managing and responding to employee queries through the HR inbox
  • Supporting employee lifecycle administration, including onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Coordinating recruitment activity with hiring managers, candidates and external recruitment partners
  • Assisting with payroll, pension and benefits administration
  • Maintaining employee records, HR systems and documentation
  • Producing reports and supporting people data requirements
  • Assisting with annual HR processes, including performance reviews and people reporting
  • Providing general administrative support across the wider People function
About You
Applications are welcomed from candidates with experience in HR, recruitment, administration, customer service or professional services environments.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
  • Experience within an administrative, coordination or HR support role
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence working with systems, data and reporting
  • A proactive and reliable approach with a willingness to support colleagues across the business
Why Join Murgitroyd?
Murgitroyd offers the opportunity to join a respected international organisation while still benefiting from the support and accessibility of a close-knit team. The People team plays a visible and trusted role across the business, supporting colleagues throughout the UK and Europe and working closely with leaders to ensure an excellent employee experience.
Culture was a recurring theme throughout our discussions with the business. This is a team that works collaboratively, communicates openly and genuinely enjoys supporting one another. There is a strong sense of trust within the team, regular opportunities to share ideas and a willingness to help colleagues whenever needed. Employees are encouraged to get involved in wider initiatives across the business, including wellbeing, ESG and employee engagement activities, giving people the opportunity to contribute beyond their day-to-day responsibilities.
This is a role that places real value on organisation, accuracy and customer service. While there is exposure to a broad range of HR activities, the position is primarily focused on administration, coordination and employee support rather than strategic HR or employee relations work. It is therefore ideally suited to someone who enjoys being at the centre of operations, managing multiple priorities and ensuring people processes run efficiently.
Benefits & Perks
  • Salary up to £30,000 with annual salary reviews
  • 25 days annual leave plus 8 public holidays
  • Employer pension contributions matched up to 5%
  • Private healthcare
  • Life assurance (three times basic salary)
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
  • Ride2Work scheme
  • EV car scheme
  • Career development and study support
  • Long service recognition awards
  • Opportunities to get involved in ESG, charity, wellbeing, community and inclusion initiatives
  • Regular company-wide and team social events
  • Free parking at the Glasgow office, with alternative parking costs reimbursed where required
  • Complimentary lunch provided every second Wednesday
  • Free tea, coffee, soft drinks, fruit, snacks and refreshments in the office
  • A collaborative, supportive culture built around teamwork, trust and continuous improvement
If you're looking for an opportunity to join a successful international organisation in a role where you'll become a valued part of a supportive People team, we'd love to hear from you.
