HR Manager (Part-Time)
Up to £40,000 FTE | Hamilton (Onsite) | 3 Days Per Week
Iconic Resourcing is delighted to be partnering exclusively with Ireland Alloys in the appointment of a HR Manager to join the business on a part-time basis.
This is an opportunity to join a respected Scottish manufacturing business with more than 60 years of industry expertise and a reputation built on quality, integrity and long-term customer relationships. Ireland Alloys operates from a 200,000 sq. ft facility in Hamilton and is recognised as one of Europe's leading processors of complex metal alloys. The business forms part of the internationally renowned Jacob Metal Group, a global organisation employing around 1,000 people across Europe and North America.
Following significant investment in its facilities, infrastructure and operations over recent years, the business has returned to profitability and is entering an exciting new phase of development. With the operational foundations now firmly in place, the focus has shifted towards the people agenda, creating an opportunity for a HR Manager to have a genuine impact on the future of the organisation.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the HR Manager will take ownership of the HR function across a workforce of approximately 50 employees.
This is a highly visible role offering the chance to become the trusted HR expert within the business. You'll work closely with senior leaders, support managers across day-to-day people matters and help introduce greater structure, consistency and best practice across the employee lifecycle.
For someone who enjoys combining operational HR with meaningful improvement projects, this is a role where you'll be able to see the direct impact of your work.
Key Areas of Focus
As HR Manager, you will:
- Lead on employee relations matters, providing practical guidance and support to managers
- Develop and embed an effective appraisal and performance management process
- Review and update HR policies, procedures and employee documentation
- Support recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning activity
- Strengthen absence management and employee wellbeing initiatives
- Improve HR records, systems and compliance practices
- Support employee engagement initiatives and staff communications
- Partner with the leadership team on people-related challenges and opportunities
- Help the business navigate evolving employment legislation and best practice
The role is expected to be around 70% operational and 30% strategic, particularly during the initial period as key foundations and processes are strengthened.
Who We're Looking For
We'd be keen to speak with either:
- An experienced HR Manager from an SME, manufacturing, engineering or operational environment who enjoys a hands-on role and wants the autonomy to make a difference; or
- A capable Senior HR Advisor looking to take the next step into a standalone HR Manager position with full ownership and visibility.
You'll bring strong generalist HR experience, confidence supporting managers through employee relations matters and the ability to build credibility quickly across all levels of the organisation.
Most importantly, you'll enjoy taking ownership, improving processes and acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
