Full Time, Permanent
Up to £60,000 dependant on experience
We’re delighted to be partnering with Briggs Marine, a leading, family-owned provider of specialised marine, subsea, and environmental services, on a newly created, HR Operations Manager opportunity.
This is a hands-on, senior HR role delivering consistent, high quality HR operations across a multi-site, safety critical business. You’ll lead a high performing HR team, support operational leaders, and ensure people policies, processes, and practices are practical, compliant, and aligned with operational needs. Working closely with the Chief People Officer, you’ll provide operational insight, drive key initiatives, and help shape the HR function across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and motivate the HR Operations team, setting clear objectcives, service standards and performance expectations.
- Ensure consistent delivery of core HR processes including onboarding, contracts, lifecycle changes, absence management, and leavers.
- Act as the main escalation point for complex HR queries, employee relations, and policy interpretation.
- Partner with operational leaders to provide practical HR solutions, coach managers, and support workforce planning.
- Drive process improvement and standardisation, identifying opportunities to make HR delivery more efficient.
- Support organisational change initiatives, including TUPE, restructures, and multi-site projects.
- Maintain HR compliance with UK employment law, industry regulations, and internal governance standards.
- Use HR metrics and data to inform decisions, highlight trends, and improve organisational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Health & Safety teams to support a strong safety culture and employee wellbeing initiatives.
What Briggs are looking for:
- Proven experience leading HR operations or multi-site HR teams.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations.
- Ability to balance operational delivery with strategic oversight in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
- Skilled in HR systems, data analysis, and process improvement.
- Confident working with senior operational leaders across multiple sites.
- Experience in marine, logistics, engineering, or other safety-critical industries would be desirable, as would exposure to TUPE, restructures, or organisational change, but not essential.
If you’re a pragmatic, credible HR professional who thrives on operational delivery, improving processes, and working closely with senior leadership to shape HR strategy , this is a fantastic opportunity to join Briggs Marine and make a real impact.
