About the Role:
Iconic Resourcing has been instructed on a rarely available in-house opportunity which has arisen for an experienced Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence or Professional Negligence Solicitor who is focused on specialising in medical / clinical negligence, based in Glasgow. Main Responsibilities:
- Working within the in-house legal team, covering a varied portfolio including UK-wide medical malpractice claims, contract drafting, and regulatory matters.
- Acting as a Panel Solicitor, handling discussions with insurers, external solicitor firms, and party litigants.
- Managing an individual caseload of pre-litigated and litigated medical negligence matters with minimal supervision.
- Providing clear, succinct advice and reports, and obtaining instructions from key stakeholders, including Board members and insurers.
- Supporting and advising the business on all legal matters as needed.
Essential Attributes:
- Qualified Solicitor within Scotland, holding a current practising certificate from the Law Society of Scotland.
- Strong understanding of medical malpractice and/or personal injury litigation.
- Experience managing an independent caseload with minimal supervision.
- At least 2 years' PQE, although candidates with fewer years will be considered if they possess the right skills and experience.
- Ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent IT, administrative, and organisational skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and knowledge of business needs.
- Willingness to research and advise on various areas of law.
Desirable Attributes:
- Dual qualification in Scots and English Law, though not essential.
- Familiarity with the English legal system, desirable but not mandatory.
