If you’re looking for an Internal Audit role that offers genuine variety, early responsibility, and the chance to make a visible impact across a wide range of organisations, this is a strong next step. You’ll join a growing specialist team where your work directly influences governance, controls, and risk frameworks across public sector bodies, charities, housing associations, and education providers.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants more than routine audit delivery. You’ll take ownership of engagements end to end, work closely with senior stakeholders, and see the real-world impact of your recommendations. With a supportive, people-first culture, strong focus on development, and flexible/remote working built in, it’s a role designed to help you progress quickly while maintaining balance.
What you’ll do
You’ll lead and deliver internal audit assignments from planning through to completion across a diverse client base, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and in line with agreed timelines. You’ll assess risk, review controls, and provide clear, practical recommendations that help organisations strengthen governance and improve performance.
Alongside delivery, you’ll supervise and review the work of junior team members, providing coaching, feedback, and on-the-job support to help them develop. You’ll also attend client meetings and audit committee sessions, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and contribute to the continued growth of the internal audit offering through involvement in business development activity.
What you’ll need
• Around 3+ years’ experience in internal audit or a similar risk and assurance role
• Experience leading audits and working directly with clients
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments
• Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills
• Experience coaching or supporting junior colleagues
• Professional qualification (or working towards one such as CIIA) is desirable
• A proactive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail
