Legal & Compliance Assistant
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid)

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 + Benefits
A premium spirits business with a growing international footprint is seeking a Legal & Compliance Assistant to join its in-house Legal team. The organisation brings together a portfolio of high-quality brands across the whisky and wider drinks market and continues to expand both in the UK and internationally.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within an in-house legal function. Whilst some legal experience would be beneficial, candidates from legal secretarial, administrative, or support backgrounds who are keen to develop their skills across governance, compliance, due diligence, and legal operations are also encouraged to apply.
Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will support a broad range of legal, governance, and compliance activities, helping to ensure the smooth running of the legal function.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the drafting, review, and administration of commercial contracts
- Managing contract records and maintaining legal documentation
- Conducting due diligence checks using compliance systems
- Assisting with regulatory compliance and operational licensing activities
- Supporting trademark administration and intellectual property matters
- Assisting with company secretarial duties, including statutory filings and record maintenance
- Responding to internal legal queries and supporting stakeholders across the business
- Providing general administrative support to the Legal team
- Assisting with legal projects and process improvement initiatives
You will ideally have:
- Either a relevant qualification (such as a Law degree or law conversion), or practical experience in a similar legal support role
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn
- The ability to handle confidential information with discretion
