Legal Support Team Leader
Edinburgh | Hybrid Working
Permanent | Full Time
Enjoy helping people do their best work? Ready for a role where you can make a difference beyond your own desk? We’re partnering with a respected Edinburgh law firm to find a Legal Support Team Leader to oversee support across two established practice areas.
This role would suit someone who understands the pace and demands of legal support and is ready to take on more responsibility for how a team works, develops and delivers for its fee earners and clients. You’ll be responsible for coordinating workloads, balancing resources and supporting the ongoing development of a team of Legal PAs. From providing guidance and coaching to helping manage competing priorities, you’ll play an important part in creating a well-organised, collaborative and effective support function.
There’s also a real opportunity to influence how legal support evolves. The firm is keen to embrace new technology and more efficient ways of working, so you’ll help colleagues explore the practical benefits of AI, improve existing processes and build confidence in using new tools.
Importantly, this isn’t a role that takes you completely away from the hands-on side of legal support. You’ll also get involved in administrative and PA duties when required, making it a good fit for someone who enjoys leading others while remaining connected to the work itself.
We’d be keen to hear from people who bring:
- A background in legal secretarial, Legal PA or wider legal support roles, ideally with exposure to property-related work.
- Experience guiding, mentoring or supervising colleagues, with an interest in helping others develop.
- Strong organisational skills and the confidence to manage changing demands and competing deadlines.
- A practical, forward-thinking approach to improving processes and introducing new ways of working.
- An interest in legal technology and how tools such as AI can support a more efficient service.
- Familiarity with systems such as BigHand, Aderant or iManage would be useful, but isn’t essential, as support and training will be available.
What’s on offer?
The chance to step into a broader role within an established legal business, where you can shape the day-to-day experience of the support team, contribute ideas and help drive improvements across the function.
