Iconic Resourcing's Accountancy & Finance Division is thrilled to support our key client in the insurance sector as they seek to hire an experienced Management Accountant for a full-time, permanent role at their Glasgow City Centre offices.
The role will be working in their Global Accounting team and will allow you to continue or begin the skill of people management as well as preparing and reporting on month end. This role offers a competitive base salary and excellent, great career development opportunities & a hybrid working model (50/50 split between office & home).
We are looking for:
• Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ICAS/CIMA)
• Strong experience in the preparation of journals
• US GAAP & SOX experience would be advantageous.
• Driven, determined and ability to operate well within a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills (both written & verbal)
• Excellent IT literacy skills
• Ability to prioritize own workload & manage multiple deadlines

The key areas of the role will include:
- Assisting senior management in the production of monthly management accounts and relevant commentary within the tight reporting deadline
- Support management on a regular basis with key decisions
- Lead the preparation and review of reconciliations to verify the accuracy of management accounts
- Performing monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date variance analysis to budget and prior year on P&L
- Preparation and review of monthly journals
- Assist with preparation of monthly executive packs/disclosure information
- Participating in the preparation and review of monthly reporting packs alongside the production and review of any requested ad hoc reporting
- Liase with Finance Business Partners in other departments to provide support on queries
- Posting of month-end journal transactions and balance sheet reconciliations
- Help drive forward change to ensure that department and teams members improve, and support in junior members development
- Ensuring SOX regulations are fully met
- Supporting the wider team and assisting with the delegation of workload
