M&A Tax Manager
Glasgow / Edinburgh / Aberdeen
Be right at the centre of deals, not on the sidelines. You’ll work on high-impact transactions from day one, advising on acquisitions, exits, and restructures while building a skillset that goes far beyond compliance. If you’re looking to accelerate your development in a genuinely commercial environment, this is the kind of move that can fast-track your career.
You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of clients and transaction types, working closely with experienced deal professionals across tax and corporate finance. With strong support, clear progression, and the chance to develop both technically and commercially, this is an ideal step for someone who wants to deepen their expertise and become a go-to adviser in the deals space.
Flexible working, a collaborative culture, and a focus on continuous learning make this a role where you can grow quickly while still maintaining balance.
What you’ll do
You’ll advise clients on the tax aspects of a broad range of transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, MBOs, refinancing, and reorganisations. You’ll play a key role in delivering tax due diligence assignments, working alongside colleagues across corporate finance and wider tax teams to provide joined-up, commercially focused advice.
You’ll build strong relationships with clients and intermediaries, identifying opportunities to add value and contribute to wider engagements. Alongside your client work, you’ll support the development of junior team members through coaching and feedback, while keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and translating these into practical insights for clients and colleagues.
What you’ll need
• ACA, CA or ACCA qualified and ideally CTA qualified
• Experience in corporate tax or private client tax with an advisory focus
• Exposure to transaction tax work or a strong interest in moving into this space
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem solving
• Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members is advantageous
