Job Purpose:
Provide practical business development support, market research, and advice to the corporate practice area, aiming to build and sustain client relationships and exploit new business opportunities. This role involves regular travel between offices.
Core Tasks:
- Strategic Management: Influence strategic direction and implementation in partner meetings.
- Business Planning: Draft marketing plans, manage budgets, and contribute to strategic business plans.
- Client Care: Develop and report on client care programs, identify new opportunities, and collaborate with partners to execute plans.
- Opportunity Spotting: Pursue opportunities from existing and new clients and convert them into new work.
- Tendering/Credentials Creation: Support tenders by providing and analysing corporate practice information and drafting credentials.
- Internal Communications: Maintain a flow of market intelligence and coordinate marketing activities.
- Marketing Literature and Events: Generate marketing initiatives, organise events, and oversee marketing processes.
- Profile/PR: Maintain press coverage, draft directory entries, and coordinate thought-leadership articles.
- Marketing Training: Provide training on business development techniques and mentor colleagues.
- Cross Practice Integration: Develop new opportunities by leveraging the business development network and sharing best practices.
Person Specification:
- Graduate with at least 5 years of business development and marketing experience in formal professional services (such as legal or finance).
- Enthusiasm for understanding the corporate market in the UK and internationally.
- Proactive, creative, tenacious, and energetic.
- High attention to detail and strong client focus.
- Ability to make tough decisions, anticipate risks, and manage change.
- Strong ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects, and balance priorities.
