A prestigious, independent membership organisation is seeking an enthusiastic Membership & Events Assistant to join their team in Edinburgh. With over 500 years of history, this institution is dedicated to advancing standards and supporting the education and training of their professional members globally. This varied role involves working across the Membership Services Team (3 days) and the Membership Engagement Team (2 days). The Membership & Events Assistant will be essential in ensuring a positive experience for members at all levels, handling enquiries, supporting ceremonial events, and maintaining accurate membership records. The role also involves supporting the annual subscription renewal process, promoting membership, and assisting at diploma ceremonies, both in-person and remotely.
Reporting to the Events & Membership Manager, you'll be tasked with:

Providing responsive, customer-focused service to all membership levels, managing queries about benefits, ceremonies, payments, and subscriptions.

Assisting with the onboarding of new members, offering administrative support, including handling correspondence, managing welcome forms, and producing visa letters.

Preparing and despatching Diplomas for members attending ceremonies, ensuring high standards of service.

Contributing to promotional activities to increase membership engagement and raise awareness.

Providing support at ceremonial events, coordinating with the Membership Engagement Team for smooth event execution.
To be considered for the role, you'll have:

A degree in marketing, events or similar field or equivalent work experience

Previous administration experience ideally in a marketing or membership capacity

Proficiency with IT systems (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required

Strong customer service and communication skills

Proactive and independent worker able to engage with all levels within a business

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
