Iconic Resourcing Accountancy & Finance Division are delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation within the maritime transportation sector as they seek to appoint an experienced Payroll Assistant on a 12m FTC at their head offices in Inverclyde on a full-time and hybrid working basis.
Deeply embedded into the history of Scottish Maritime travel, with a strong reputation spanning over 160 years, this organisation are an award-winning and customer-focused organisation who provide services across ferry and port operation, and ship management. Well-known within their industry for their value add across tourism, communities and transport, this role has arisen due to additional required resource within the team to support with a growth period. Reporting into the Payroll Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in processing the end-to-end payroll across the Group. Key areas of the role will surround:
- Accurately process a large monthly payroll (c.1900 employees) using iTrent, including transferring weekly timesheet information and all associated elements onto the payroll system.
- Identify opportunities for streamlining payroll processes/process improvement
- Contribute to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of monthly Payroll returns, including BACS payments and electronic filing
- Verify the correct application of Income Tax Code changes
- Address enquiries from external organisations such as Inland Revenue, Benefits Agencies, Sheriff Courts, and Pensions Administrators
- Process SMP/SSP/ p11Ds/ mat pay/ pat pay
- Distribute Payroll-generated letters for auto-enrolment into the People's Pension Fund
- Adhoc duties as required
To be successful in this role, the following experience is required:
- Experience in processing end-to-end payroll on a monthly cycle
- Strong systems & IT knowledge (iTrent would be highly advantageous)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work well & meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage & prioritise own workload
This role is on a 12m FTC offering a base salary of £30,600 + benefits. The team currently operate on a hybrid working basis, with 2 days presence in the office.
