The Role
As Payroll Co-Ordinator, you will work closely with the existing payroll team to ensure the accurate and timely processing of the monthly & weekly UK employees of c.650, alongside assisting with any queries driving from 9 small international payrolls. Key areas of the role will surround:
- Taking ownership of the end-to-end weekly payroll processing cycles, ensuring that all statutory reporting is processed in a timely manner; these include P11D’s, PAYE/NIC, FPS, Deductions etc.
- Collate payroll information from all sites to process in line with the managed service provider’s processing schedule
- Ensure that all pensions and HMRC payments are submitted and paid to deadline
- Answering all payroll, pensions and HMRC queries from key stakeholders both within and out with the business
- Accurately process all starters and leavers and ensure any payroll related changes are updated promptly
- Accurately update all deductions and payroll payments inline with regulations
- Ensuring the accurate and timely payroll information is provided to other relevant areas of the business
- Ensure adherence to appropriate time and attendance protocols, and liaising with key stakeholders to provide support and guidance as is where necessary
- Assist in producing relevant payroll data, providing appropriate commentary on any key variances
- Submit all payroll transactions to the general ledger
- Assist in the preparation of month end accruals in accordance with the month end timetable
What we’re looking for:
To be successful in this position, the following experience is required:
- Strong experience within a fast-paced and busy payroll environment, with experience in processing across multiple cycles (payroll bureau experience would be highly advantageous) within a UK payroll setting
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent IT literacy: knowledge with ADP is advantageous, and MS Excel knowledge is essential
- Ability to work well within a fast-paced environment working towards tight deadlines
- Strong working knowledge of statutory reporting requirements is essential (P60, P11d, PSA etc.)
- General ledger knowledge and experience is essential
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and prioritisation skills
- Confident in working to your own initiative as well as part of a wider team
- Strong accuracy and planning skills
- Positive, “can do” attitude
