Role Overview:
The People and Learning Manager will be instrumental in shaping SSF’s workforce by managing HR functions, supporting learning and development, and ensuring effective policy implementation. This part-time role (21 hours per week) offers flexibility with potential hybrid working arrangements. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be a central figure in maintaining an inclusive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes. Serve as the go-to expert for all HR-related knowledge and manage relationships across the business. Ensure HR functions are well-controlled and effectively managed.
- Identify training needs, coordinate with internal and external providers, and ensure that learning and development programs align with organisational needs.
- Develop and implement HR policies, assess their impact on the organisation, and ensure that policies are reflected in day-to-day operations. Ensure policies are effectively communicated and practiced across the organisation.
- Support organisational monitoring and evaluation processes, maintain strong relationships with training providers, and promote diversity and inclusion.

Ideal Candidate:
- Proven leadership skills with excellent communication abilities to engage, motivate, and influence staff effectively. Skilful in presenting complex information clearly, both verbally and in writing. Qualified to CIPD Level 5 or equivalent, with significant management experience.
- Experienced in managing HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding, with strong organisational skills and effective delegation. Demonstrates a proactive approach to policy implementation and day-to-day operations.
- Deep understanding and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, actively fostering an inclusive work environment. Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships and partnerships.
- Ability to set targets, monitor progress, and adjust plans as necessary. Demonstrated experience in leading and implementing business strategies and objectives, with a track record of driving business growth and development.
- Highly self-motivated with a genuine passion for transforming young lives through sport and physical activity. Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
