People Partnering Manager
18 month FTC | £60,000-£65,000 | Hybrid Working
Shape a Business Partnering Function for the Future
This isn't a traditional People Partnering leadership role.
You'll join a large, complex organisation at a pivotal point in its transformation journey, with the opportunity to influence how People Partnering supports the business for years to come.
You'll inherit a respected and highly engaged team that is trusted by senior leaders across the organisation. The challenge isn't building credibility. It's helping the team evolve from being valued problem solvers into strategic partners who shape organisational decisions, workforce plans and transformation outcomes.
As People Partnering Manager, you'll lead that journey, developing capability, challenging established ways of working and helping senior stakeholders embrace a more strategic partnering model.
At the same time, you'll play a key role in a significant transformation programme, supporting organisational change, workforce planning and people initiatives that will help shape the future of the organisation.
This is an opportunity to leave a genuine legacy through developing people, transforming capability and creating a more strategic approach to business partnering.
The Opportunity
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading and developing an established People Partnering team
- Building capability and embedding a more strategic partnering approach
- Influencing and challenging senior stakeholders across the organisation
- Supporting organisational design, workforce planning and talent initiatives
- Driving people related change and transformation activities
- Using insight, data and evidence to support business decision-making
- Leading strategic People projects and cross-functional initiatives
- Strengthening the connection between organisational priorities and people strategy
About You
We're looking for an experienced People leader who combines strong leadership capability with a track record of operating successfully within large, complex organisations.
You'll bring:
- Experience leading and developing HR or People teams
- Experience operating at a strategic business partnering level
- A track record of leading teams through change, transformation or capability building initiatives
- The ability to influence, challenge and build credibility with senior stakeholders
- Strong coaching and leadership skills
- Commercial awareness and a pragmatic, solutions focused approach
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice
- Experience navigating complexity, competing priorities and multiple stakeholder groups
Experience gained within either the public or private sector will be considered.
Why Join?
Few opportunities offer such a clearly defined mandate to shape both a team and a function.
With visible sponsorship from senior leadership, you'll have the autonomy to modernise the partnering model, develop an engaged team and play a central role in an ambitious transformation agenda.
If you're motivated by creating sustainable change rather than maintaining the status quo, this role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact within a defined period and leave a lasting legacy.
