Role: Private Client Associate/ Sr Associate

Iconic Resourcing is currently working with one of Scotland’s prominent law firms to appoint an Associate into their well-established and highly rated Private Client team. The Role
The Private Client team’s work is varied due to the nature of client base, and we would be happy to speak to candidates with experience in handling a wide range of private client matters with particular emphasis in support of:
- Management of a large caseload of often complex/specialist Private Client work with minimal supervision
- Management of existing trusts and advising clients on creation and winding up of trusts
- Delegation of day-to-day tasks to and supervision of team fee earners and administrators, particularly supervision of trainee solicitor within the team
- Reporting to responsible Partner and working closely with Partner in growth and development of the Glasgow team
- Review existing policies, practices and precedents
- Take part in training of the wider Private Client department
- Business development
Candidates should be:
- 4+ years PQE in Private Client work
- STEP qualified
- Strong understanding of the executry process and succession law
- Significant experience in drafting of complex wills and use of trusts within wills
- A passion and enthusiasm for Private Client work
- Adopts responsibility for proactively managing own workload, ensuring quality and responsiveness
- A team player, keen to share knowledge with less experienced members of the team but also keen to learn from colleagues and continue to build their own knowledge and personally develop themselves
- A “can do” attitude with a solution driven approach when faced with challenges
- Ability to “change gear” depending on type of client by tailoring communication and advice appropriately
This is a full-time position however consideration will also be given to part time and flexible working.
