Business Improvement Analyst
12 month FTC
Glenrothes (hybrid)
£44,000 plus benefits
Iconic Resourcing are delighted to be partnering with a leading organisation within the social housing sector as they continue to progress an ambitious programme of business and digital transformation.
We're looking for a Business Improvement Analyst to join the team on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract, supporting a key piece of work focused on understanding existing processes, identifying opportunities for service improvement and helping teams work more effectively.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in business improvement, process mapping, service improvement or operational change who enjoys getting to the root of problems, working with different stakeholders and turning findings into practical improvements. You don't need to come from a traditional Business Analyst background, but you should be confident analysing how things work, asking questions and constructively challenging existing ways of working.
You'll play an important role in reviewing processes across the organisation, working closely with teams to understand their current challenges, document existing procedures and identify where improvements could be made. This will involve engaging with stakeholders at different levels, gathering information, challenging assumptions and bringing structure to complex information to support better processes and services.
What you'll be doing
-
Reviewing existing processes and ways of working across the organisation, identifying gaps, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement
-
Working with operational teams and stakeholders to understand how services currently operate and where challenges exist
-
Developing clear process maps, workflows, standard operating procedures and supporting documentation
-
Facilitating discussions and workshops to gather information, explore problems and understand different stakeholder perspectives
-
Analysing findings and translating conversations and complex information into clear, structured documentation
-
Constructively challenging existing processes, assumptions and requirements where appropriate
-
Identifying duplication, bottlenecks and inconsistencies, helping teams understand where changes could make a difference
-
Building relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and managing competing priorities and expectations
-
Keeping process documentation accurate and up to date as findings and requirements evolve
-
Supporting wider business improvement and digital transformation activity as required
You might have experience in:
-
Business improvement or service improvement
-
Process analysis, process mapping or operational improvement
-
Business analysis with a focus on operational processes rather than purely technical delivery
-
Change management or business transformation
-
Service delivery or operational roles involving process review and improvement
-
Project support or coordination where you've taken ownership of analysing processes, documenting findings and recommending improvements
Experience within social housing, housing associations, local authorities, the public sector or the voluntary sector would be particularly valuable. We're also open to candidates from other backgrounds who can demonstrate relevant experience and an understanding of working within complex, resource-conscious environments.
We're looking for someone who:
-
Can get to the root of a problem, understand how a process works and identify what could be improved
-
Is confident engaging with a range of stakeholders, asking challenging questions and constructively pushing back when needed
-
Can manage competing priorities, adapt to changing requirements and remain focused when plans change
-
Has strong analytical, documentation and process mapping skills
-
Can turn conversations, observations and complex information into clear, practical documentation
-
Is comfortable working independently, taking ownership of tasks and keeping activity moving forward
-
Can build relationships and encourage collaboration while recognising that different stakeholders may have competing priorities
-
Is proactive, resilient and comfortable working through challenges rather than simply accepting existing ways of working
-
Has strong written and verbal communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach
