Iconic Resourcing Accountancy & Finance Division are delighted to be supporting our ever-growing and well-established client within the maritime transportation sector as they seek to appoint an experienced Procurement Officer on a full-time, permanent basis at their head offices in Inverclyde. This role offers a hybrid working model with 2 days presence in the office.

Our client are well-known within their industry for their value add across tourism, communities and transport. With consistent demand and growth, our client are now seeking a Procurement Officer who will play an integral part in assisting with a high growth period across the business. Key areas of the role will include:
- Evaluate incoming requests for goods and services from Requisitioners.
- Assess material availability within our existing inventory to determine in-house fulfilment possibilities.
- If existing inventory falls short, initiate supply chain sourcing activities, including a review of existing contracts and frameworks to identify suitable suppliers.
- Establish pricing using contract pricing schedules, supplier catalogues, or supplier quotations, while confirming lead times and other relevant information.
- Identify items with lead-times that don't align with required delivery dates and propose alternatives that meet all criteria.
- Streamline orders to minimise packaging and transport costs.
- Collaborate effectively with the Logistics Team to maintain inventory replenishment in accordance with their needs, including overhaul preload.
- Coordinate with the Procurement Specialist Technical to transfer International Orders and provide coverage when needed.
- For first-time sourcing from a new supplier, follow the New Supplier Onboarding process.
- Place purchase orders, subject to approval from the Requisitioner and other necessary approvers in accordance with the Delegation of Authority Policy.
- Manage open orders, including expediting suppliers and highlighting any impending delivery risks to the Fleet Cell and Logistics team.
- See orders through until delivery is successfully completed.
- Communicate regularly with the Contract Manager to provide feedback on supplier performance.
- Updating Open Order information in our system to ensure accurate dashboard reporting.
- Providing essential data for management reporting.
- Prioritising the communication of Requisition and Purchase Order progress to key stakeholders.
- Engaging with stakeholders to determine the prioritisation of Requisitions and Purchase Orders for optimised outcomes.
- Ensuring that Fleet Cells and the Logistics Team are informed of any potential supply chain risks.
- Implementing processes to facilitate the management of partial deliveries by the logistics team and Fleet Cell personnel based on agreed frequencies.

This role offers flexibility in hours additionally, however core hours fall between M-F 0830 - 1700.
