Job Title: Revenue Controller
Location: Edinburgh – Hybrid (4 days in-office)
About the Role:
This is a high-impact role where you’ll work to drive financial performance through effective billing, credit control, and client account management.
You’ll act as a key financial liaison across the practice group, delivering valuable insight and hands-on support while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal frameworks. Collaborating closely with finance and operational teams, you’ll also contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements that enhance efficiency and support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary financial contact for the Dispute Resolution and Risk teams, supporting all aspects of revenue and working capital management.
- Work in partnership with legal teams to manage WIP, billing cycles, and aged debt, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
- Monitor billing forecasts and accounts receivable performance, identifying and addressing issues proactively.
- Hold regular in-person meetings with partners and stakeholders to review financial performance and encourage accountability.
- Collaborate with the Head of Working Capital to implement strategic improvements across billing, credit control, and reporting functions.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, industry regulations, VAT legislation, and legal accounting standards (Law Society of Scotland/SRA).
- Deliver high-quality management information and financial reports to support decision-making and performance monitoring.
- Provide guidance and training to practice teams and support the development of working capital best practices across the business.
- Travel to regional offices as required to build strong local relationships and maintain operational consistency.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a revenue or working capital-focused finance role, ideally within the legal or professional services sector.
- Strong understanding of legal billing processes, WIP, accounts receivable, and financial regulations relevant to law firms.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
- A pragmatic and solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to make decisions and challenge where necessary.
- Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Comfortable with office-based work and regular travel to other locations.
- Technically confident with core finance systems and Excel, and always looking for ways to improve processes and efficiency.
