POSITION: Sales Account Manager
FUNCTION: Develop and maximise business from specified customers via telephone and email. Manage a defined portfolio of accounts, understanding customer requirements, identifying areas of growth, and driving revenue. Assist the external sales team in generating revenue by providing qualified leads and identifying new business opportunities. Collaborate with the marketing team on campaigns to increase sales in specific focus areas.
LOCATION: Based at Head Office, Glasgow (fully office based)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build relationships with a defined portfolio of customers to identify opportunities and maximize revenue, including cross-selling and up-selling across divisions.
- Compile pricing agreements and quotes in accordance with commercial team guidance.
- Assist with resolving customer queries and manage customer debt.
- Ensure customer loss and damage charges are addressed promptly in conjunction with Operations.
- Regularly review customer spend through monthly reports to ensure compliance with new or updated agreements, and adjust rates accordingly.
- Use management information to stimulate activity with down traders, non-spending customers, or those using other suppliers more frequently.
- Establish a broad contact base with key customer contacts in Management, Procurement, Accounts, Health & Safety, and site personnel.
- Ensure effective use of the company’s Customer Lifecycle Management (CLM) system.
- Collaborate with divisions and regions to implement sales campaigns to support revenue growth.
- Assist the external sales team by providing qualified leads and identifying new business opportunities.
- Submit detailed and accurate reports to the management team as requested.

- Previous experience in a sales role
- Proven track record of increased revenue for businesses and divisions
- Experience within the construction or engineering environment
