Iconic Resourcing Accountancy & Finance Division have recently partnered with one of our well-established clients in the construction sector for an experienced Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Manager on a full-time, permanent basis. This role would be well suited to candidates who hold prior management experience across both accounts payable & receivable. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a small team of Finance Assistants, coaching & mentoring and working to improve AP & AR processes. Key areas of this role will include:
- Supervising a small team of AP, AR & Finance Assistants in ensuring correct allocation of workload, training, development and 1-2-1's are delivered.
- Supervising processing of high volume of purchase invoices ensuring any discrepancies are investigated and resolved before deadline.
- Management of all elements of Credit Card processing including matching and reconciliation
- Undertaking AP duties such as match, batch & coding of invoices and reconciling supplier statements.
- Management of weekly, fortnightly and monthly subcontractor valuation payment cycles.
- Responsibility for the collection of outstanding funds covering management of relationship with all customers and external collections agency.
- Undertaking various AR duties including raising and issue of sales invoices, matching daily cash receipts from customers, and investigating and resolve unallocated cash receipts.
- Performing bank reconciliations.
- Working with the team to ensure full understanding of AP/AR functions and suggesting improvements to processes where necessary.
- Periodic reporting to the Financial Controller and delivery of reports for monthly management information routines including appropriate Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Adhoc duties as and when required.
What we're looking for:
- Demonstrable experience of managing an AP/AR team within a fast-paced and high volume environment
- Strong AP & AR knowledge
- Hands-on and keen to develop team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good IT proficiency skills
- Experience of Microsoft Business Central (Evision) suite is essential.
- Construction and/or contracting experience is desirable.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the role offers an excellent basic salary of up to £33,000, competitive benefits and a great working culture. This role is office based.
