Senior Associate / Legal Director - Family
Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid)
Salary: £85,000 to £100,000 + Bonus and Benefits

We are working with a well established and highly regarded practice in Edinburgh to recruit an experienced Senior Associate or Legal Director into their Family Law team.

This is a senior appointment within a growing and ambitious team, offering a clear platform for progression and long term influence. The firm has a strong reputation in private client work and an established, high quality client base, providing immediate access to complex and rewarding matters.

This role is well suited to a senior solicitor seeking greater autonomy, a genuine voice in shaping a team, and a clear route toward partnership.

The Role
You will play a key role within a collaborative and expanding department, managing your own caseload while contributing to the ongoing growth and success of the team.

The work will include:

  • Financial provision on separation and divorce, including medium to high net worth and complex cases
  • Child residence and contact matters
  • Pre- and post-nuptial agreements
  • Negotiated settlements, with exposure to litigation where required

You will also be encouraged to contribute to business development and to raise your profile in the market, supported by an experienced and well connected senior leadership team.

About You
You will be:

  • A Scottish qualified solicitor with c.10 years PQE
  • Comfortable managing a full caseload independently
  • Experienced in handling complex financial provision matters
  • Confident in a client facing role, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commercially aware, with an interest in contributing to team growth

Accreditation as a Family Law Specialist (or a willingness to obtain this) would be highly advantageous. Just as importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys working collaboratively, builds strong relationships internally and externally, and brings a positive, proactive approach to your work.
