Senior Associate / Legal Director - IP / Commercial
Location: Glasgow or Edinburgh (Hybrid)
Salary: £57,000 to £75,000 + Bonus and Benefits
A leading Scottish independent firm is looking to appoint a Senior Associate or Director to join its Data & Technology team. This is a standout opportunity to work directly with a highly regarded, exceptionally supportive partner, known for both technical excellence and an approachable, collaborative style.
You’ll gain hands-on access to a genuinely varied client base, from tech and software companies to universities, public bodies, charities, media organisations and innovative private sector clients. This isn’t a back-office role, you’ll have real visibility, responsibility and client contact from day one.
As a senior individual in the team, you’ll work closely with the partner to shape the direction of the practice, support junior colleagues and play a meaningful role in the team’s ongoing growth. It’s a rare chance to step into a senior position with genuine influence, without the pressure or intensity of a large corporate firm.
What You'll Be Doing
- Advising on a broad mix of commercial and IT contracts, including SaaS and software development
- Supporting clients with IP protection and licensing
- Advising on data protection, cybersecurity and emerging digital regulation
- Providing IP/IT input on corporate transactions
- Working with a diverse range of public and private sector clients on technology, data and digital projects
Who This Suits
The role is from 5 years PQE and strong experience in commercial contracts is required, ideally with exposure to IT contracts. Someone who is eager to get involved in clients and appreciates the variation in work.
