Senior Associate – Professional Indemnity
Salary £70,000 to £90,000 + Bonus & Excellent Benefits

We have partnered with a leading international law firm as they look to appoint a Senior Associate to join their Professional Indemnity team in Edinburgh. This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded practice, working alongside recognised specialists on complex, high value disputes for a global client base.
With a strong reputation across the insurance sector, the firm has an established presence in the UK and internationally. The Edinburgh team forms a key part of the wider national practice, offering excellent opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across multiple offices while building your profile within the Scottish market.
The Role
You'll join a collaborative and well established team specialising in the defence of professional indemnity claims across a broad range of sectors. Your work will include:

Defending complex and high-value professional indemnity claims on behalf of insurers and insured professionals.

Advising on disputes involving construction professionals, accountants, financial advisers, brokers and other consultants.

Providing strategic advice on policy coverage, liability and risk.

Managing claims from pre-action stages through to resolution, including litigation, mediation and other forms of dispute resolution.

Drafting pleadings, reports and commercially focused advice for clients.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with insurers, policyholders and professional clients.

Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers within the team.

Contributing to business development initiatives and the continued growth of the practice.
What We're Looking For

Scottish qualified Solicitor (or dual-qualified) with a minimum of 4 years' PQE.

Strong background in Professional Indemnity, Insurance Litigation or Commercial Litigation.

Experience defending claims involving construction professionals, financial services, brokers or accountants would be advantageous.

Confidence managing complex disputes and high-value claims with increasing autonomy.

Strong technical ability, commercial awareness and client management skills.

A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for developing both clients and colleagues.
