Job Opportunity: Senior Bookkeeper | Full-Time | Permanent

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and proactive Senior Bookkeeper. My client is looking for someone with extensive experience in VAT, CIS, and general bookkeeping, as well as a strong passion for embracing technology and streamlining processes. With a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries, we need someone who can manage the full operations of the bookkeeping function while driving innovation and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
- VAT & CIS Management: Oversee all aspects of VAT and CIS returns, ensuring compliance and accurate submissions.
- Bookkeeping: Manage the full bookkeeping function, including managing ledgers, processing transactions, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Team Management & Training: Provide training, guidance, and support to apprentices and accounts assistants, ensuring deadlines are met and skills are developed.
- Client Liaison: Work with a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from construction companies to bookshops, pharmacies, solicitors, and more, and work to achieve their unique needs.
- Process Improvement & Automation: Continuously review and improve processes to ensure efficiency, compliance, and best practices. You’ll actively seek out opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual work for your clients.

- Proven Leadership Skills: Experience managing and training staff, with a focus on mentoring apprentices and junior team members to help them meet deadlines and develop their skills.
- Innovation-Driven: A forward-thinking mindset, always looking for ways to improve and streamline processes. We want someone who isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo and suggest tech-based solutions.
- Highly Organised: Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Clear and professional communication skills for liaising with both clients and internal teams.
- Flexible & Adaptable: Ability to adapt to different client industries and needs, and the willingness to jump into accounts and tax work as needed.
