Iconic Resourcing are excited to be partnering with our client, who is a leading and hugely successful UK consultancy business, who are keen to recruit a Senior Tax Manager, that will lead the provision, management and delivery of tax advice, planning and compliance for a diverse and growing client portfolio which includes entrepreneurial 'high net worth' individuals, partnerships, executries and trusts.
This is a No2. role that will work closely but also report to the Director of Tax. The role requires excellent communication to work with and manage key external stakeholder expectations, whilst also internally working and reporting to senior Director level. The team is based in Edinburgh, but does work successfully to a flexible and hybrid model. You will CTA or CA qualified, with significant experience in Personal Tax, in particular Private Clients for Tax planning and compliance.

Core responsibilities in the role:
- Management of the compliance function, with line management of a experienced and dedicated team who you will assist and guide in their professional development.
- Overview and identify skills across the team, optimising existing skill and strengths; review skill gaps and areas for improvement; implementing improvement plans, coaching, motivation etc.
- Implement and develop the Controls and Compliance frameworks, ensuring operating effectively.
- Delivery of a full range of tax services (Compliance, Planning and Advisory) and the ability to identify and mitigate tax risks.
- Review of complex tax returns and providing tax solutions for our clients
- Provide advice on tax issues ranging from income tax, capital gains, inheritance tax and VAT.
- Bespoke advisory on tax planning matters; business structuring, business and asset disposals, potential inheritance tax liabilities and estate planning.
- Development of client relationships through both proactive and reactive interaction with clients.
- Overall you will perform in a challenging, 'hands on' fully advisory role, meeting clients, and helping them to operate in a tax-efficient manner.
- Carrying out bespoke technical research for a range of complex advisory projects.
- Produce high quality tax reports to advise clients and liaise with HM Revenue & Customs on their behalf.
Overall this position presents an exciting growth opportunity to progress in the team and across the business, with a genuine chance of progression to Director level, where you will be tasked with creating your own professional development. There will also be the opportunity to support on key client/business development strategies i.e. preparing proposals etc.
