Solicitor - Employment (NQ to 3 years PQE)
Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid)
Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 plus Benefits
An exciting opportunity to join a growing Employment team within a well established Scottish law firm, working closely with the Partner as the team continues to develop.
This is a relatively lean team and means the successful candidate will have direct access to the Partners, early responsibility and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in the team's growth.
The role is open to candidates from NQ upwards with at least 1 seat in employment law.
The Opportunity
The team handles a broad range of contentious and advisory work, with a particular focus on employment tribunal litigation with more than half of the workload involving defending a major public sector organisation in employment tribunal proceedings.
You'll gain exposure to:
- Discrimination and equality matters
- Advising employers on day to day employment issues
- Strategic advice to HR teams, CEOs and senior management
- Employment work for clients across the energy, oil & gas, and renewables sectors
- Acting for both employers and occasionally employees
- Employment aspects of corporate transactions
The partner has extensive experience from their time as an Advocate. Their background in advocacy and complex employment disputes provides the opportunity to learn directly from a practitioner with specialist experience in tribunal strategy, advocacy and contentious employment work.
About You
The ideal candidate will be from NQ to around 4 years PQE. Incoming NQ's should have at least one seat in Employment and are keen to build their career in the area.
